Terms you should know:
- Inswing (I/S)- A door that opens inward.
- Outswing (O/S)- A door that opens outward.
- Lite- A pane of glass in a door.
- Grids - Decorative horizontal or vertical bars installed between the glass panes to create the appearance of smaller lites of glass.
- Casing - Molding around interior and exterior door openings.
- Drip Cap - A horizontal moulding placed above doors to divert water.
- Jamb - The side and head trim of a door frame.
- Prehung Door - A door already mounted to the jambs. Prehanging eliminates the steps of fitting the hinges and squaring the door.
- Stile - The vertical members of a panel door.
- Stop - Small molding strips attached to side and head jambs to guide and stop swinging doors.
